Our Last Day

Today is our last day in Primary 2 and our also day with Miss McEwan and Mrs Macis.
We had mass this morning with Father Kevin and it was lovely.
Mrs Macis is very sad because she has to leave our school today – we would like to keep her forever!

Compound Words

We have been doing more work on Compound Words.  We made Compound Word birds, we each had one word and we had 30 seconds to find the person with the other word that would make ours a compound word!  It was tricky!

 

Wizard Blot is lost again!

Wizard Blot is now in the giant’s eye! We looked at an eye on the smart board. We learned about the pupil and why our eyes water sometimes even when we are not crying! We learned about tear ducts too.
We tried to stare as long as we could without blinking, it was very hard. Miss McEwan told us that blinking is very important and it cleans your eyes.
We went around the classroom in partners, one person had their eyes closed and the other person had to guide them around the class to their seat. We also had to get our shoes and coats changed with our eyes closed. It was very tricky – we are very glad that we can all see!

Wizard Blot has gone again!

Wizard Blot was watching Jack and the Beanstalk on our smart board and then he went missing! He sent us a magic message saying that he had tried to do a magic spell to get in the story but he has ended up inside the giant by accident.  Today we got a message from him saying that he was inside the giant’s ear and he didn’t like the brown stuff that was there and he asked us to find out what it was.

We looked on the internet and researched all about the ear.  We found out that

·        the brown stuff is called ear wax

·        that ear wax is very important. It keeps dirt, dust and bugs out of our ears.

·        The ear has three parts

·        There is an ear canal, an ear drum and a hammer bone!

 

We made a giant giant for our class wall!

 

 

 

We loved Health Week!!

This week was Health Week. We walk to Jennys Park. We did mousercise today.We watched a show called WHAT A LOAD OF RUBBISH. Yesterday we did an obstacle course. Finally we did cheerleading.All of us had fun.
